Hear about why it is important for Māori to take part in the census.

Moko Tepania

"This is a call for everyone far and wide to fill out and take part in the Aotearoa Census.

Whānau, it's so important that well all complete our census forms this year. We can do it online, we can do it in-person. But what it means is we'll get the funding we need to get the services we deserve here in the North.

So, kia kaha tātou! Let's make it count. Everyone counts, kia kaha!"

Oriini Kaipara

"Māori mā, let's make it count!

It's census time, and it is important that we as Māori are seen in the numbers. We understand that some of us may be hesitant that our information is not secure, but all our information will be protected.

What are the benefits of taking part in the census? The important thing is that you and your whānau will be seen in the numbers, and those numbers will be used to make sure that the right resources go out to our whānau Māori, to the whānau across Aotearoa.

So, Māori mā, all of you, all of us! Let's make it count!"

Pere Wihongi

"Mauri ora e te iwi! Get up! It is census time.

Now for those of you who don't know what census is, it's basically a national survey collecting everybody's information so that our communities can get the resources that they need.

Now, it only takes literally 15 minutes, no longer than that, and you can actually do it online.  So if you haven't already filled it out, go and do that right now! Go and fill it in! Especially if you are Māori.

Why? Because we need to be heard. We need to be seen, and we all count. Let's make it count!"

Tiki Taane

"Kia ora e te whānau, it's census time, and it's really easy to fill out either online or in person.

This kaupapa is important, whānau. For us to be seen and counted means more resources and opportunities for us, our whānau and our community.

Let's all be counted, because we all count. You know what to do cuz, just fill out the census!"

Bayden Barber

"Tēnā tātou e te iwi Māori, tēnā tātou ko taku iwi o Ngāti Kahungunu.

We really want to encourage everyone to take part in this year's census. We need you to fill in the census e hoa mā. Whether you are Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Porou, or Ngāti Kahungunu, your iwi needs to know who you are, where you are and how they can help you.

Let's all be counted!"

Tipene Harmer

"Kia ora e te whānau, we all know it's census time, time is running out. It's important that we come through and we support each other. If you've already done your forms - choice! Make sure we go and support our whānau to get through. It's important we have this information because we can't help you if we don't know where you are. Nō reira, E tū! Stand up! Be counted. Let's all be counted. That's us."
